Erie, CO — The University of Colorado (CU) selected SYNLawn Colorado to upgrade its existing golf practice facility located at the Colorado National Golf Club with pro-quality putting green surfacing. The Colorado Buffaloes men’s and women’s golf teams will benefit from the enhanced amenities now available to help them train and improve their putting skills.
Improving Practice Facility Amenities with Premium Artificial Golf Greens
The men’s and women’s golf team coaches were unhappy with the existing George Boedecker, Jr. Golf Facility, seemingly built for pomp and circumstance instead of functionality, providing an idealized, unrealistic putting experience. They wanted to create three unique putting surfaces as part of the facility renovation.
SYNLawn Colorado is well regarded for its expertise in designing and installing premium artificial golf greens, including previous projects for the Colorado National Golf Club and the Links at Windy Way, so they were selected to upgrade the indoor training space with synthetic surfacing to improve the practice amenities available to both teams.
The SYNLawn team designed the new layout for the Colorado Buffaloes golf facility based on inspiration from “The Elements of Practice” by golf guru Dave Pelz. They incorporated 1–2 degree slopes, chip shots, breaking putts, and lag putts as part of the design.
The following golf products were used for the custom installation:
