Designing a Resort-Style Golf Course for Active Residents

The varying topography influenced the design and construction of the premium putting course. SYNLawn Houston had to ensure that the green had the correct slope to keep the ball from rolling into the fringe. The installation has areas sloping between 1% to 4.5% to present more challenging putts. The team also had to ensure all drainage, including the bunkers, would work throughout the course.
SYNLawn Houston used the following synthetic sports surfacing products to build the Resort-Style Golf Course:
- 6,435 square feet of SYNAugustine X47 that offers the finest quality turf available on the market due to its unmatched softness and durability. This is also a sustainable turf product since it’s USDA Certified Biobased and made with SYNLawn’s exclusive EnviroLoc™ backing system that replaces up to 60% of the petroleum-based polyol with renewable soybeans.
- 6,210 square feet of Precision Putt, which delivers the most realistic putting experience available, as well as superior performance and ball control.
- 1,250 square feet of SYNRye White for the bunkers. This is a top choice for high-traffic installations like golf greens. It provides unmatched performance, as well as safety since it has an ASTM E108 Class A Fire Rating.
Lights were also installed around the outdoor green so golf-loving residents could practice their putting skills day or night near their own homes.
