Moorestown, NJ — The Evergreens, owned by Acts Retirement-Life Communities, is one of the top retirement communities in New Jersey for vibrant seniors. Over the past few years, the community underwent extensive upgrades to provide residents with upscale amenities that allow them to continue to lead active lifestyles, including a custom golf green designed and built by the experts at SYNLawn New Jersey (dba: SYNthetic Lawns & Golf Inc.).
Building a Custom Golf Green for New Jersey Retirees
The management at The Evergreens, including the fitness director, wanted to enrich their residents’ physical and mental well-being by offering first-rate amenities to keep them active and healthy. The Evergreens has a beautifully landscaped campus allowing residents to take advantage of time outdoors. They had a golf putting green in the center courtyard that needed to be replaced, and selected SYNLawn New Jersey to lead the renovation project due to their experience designing and installing premium custom golf greens.
Before beginning the installation, SYNLawn New Jersey had to first remove large, tangled tree root masses that had compromised the base of the existing green. Once the tree roots were removed, the team resurfaced the area with the following synthetic sports surfacing products from SYNLawn Golf:
- 2,500 square feet of SYNLawn Golf’s Classic Putt, one of the most popular synthetic golf products due to its natural appearance, consistent performance, and accurate ball roll characteristics. This turf is so stable that it even holds shots inside 150 yards with realistic check, bounce, and consistent ball roll.
- 1,800 square feet of SYNAugustine 847 for the fringe, which provides a soft, durable, and stunningly realistic appearance. This USDA Certified Biobased turf is also made with Super Yarn™ technology that provides heat reflective, anti-static, Sanitized® and non-abrasive grass blades.
Additionally, the team installed two modular contours to add new enhancements and undulations and a combination of Envirofill high-performance top dressing for additional antimicrobial protection.
SYNLawn New Jersey also made personalized putting green flags featuring the Acts Retirement-Life Communities logo. The Evergreens plans to host golf competitions with neighboring senior communities, so these flags will be useful for those games.
